Component 4: Strengthening Community Institutions for Resilient, Inclusive Service Delivery especially for Women

At the core of the Afghanistan Community Resilience and Livelihoods Project (ACRLP) is a community-centered approach that promotes long-term sustainability, resilience, and local ownership. The project continues to strengthen the capacity of Community Representative Groups (CRGs) and local institutions to lead community mobilization, planning, implementation, monitoring, and training activities. Through targeted capacity-building initiatives, communities are being equipped with knowledge and skills in disaster risk mapping, inclusive aid delivery, community visioning, food security, and women’s resilience and confidence-building.

ACRLP also provides continued support to Facilitating Partners (FPs) to enhance community engagement and implementation processes, including support for kitchen gardens, grain and food banks, and awareness activities focused on women’s health and well-being. In parallel, ongoing training on community-based climate and disaster risk management is helping communities better prepare for and respond to environmental and climate-related challenges. To further strengthen risk-informed planning and decision-making, the project is scaling up the use of 2D and 3D multi-hazard exposure maps across Components 1–3.
